I haven't used the rod yet but I really like the way it looks. I'm sure I will be happy with the performance
I've had the Zeus 7', two piece spinning rod a few days but was waiting until I had a fishing session lined up. That was today. I paired the DreamCatcher rod with a 30 size, Yoshikawa, bait runner, spinning reel, spooled with 20# green PowerPro braided line. My fishing passion is catching Carp. Today I landed several Carp and Utah Suckers. The big fish of the day on the Zeus was 12.5 pounds and the smallest Sucker was around 3 pounds. The Fuji guides are so silky smooth casting and retrieving the Power Pro braided line.
The length of the handle is perfect. All my rods have long handles from 15 to 19 inches from the reel seat. It's needed to be able to steer and play big Carp. The wooden grip on mine has beautiful knots and swirls in the grain. I love it. The build quality is excellent and I don't see how it could be improved. What I heard others say it was all 'hype'. Well I can say the 'hype' about Dreamcatcher rods is that it's all true. You have a very satisfied customer in me. Oh, BTW, I used the Medium tip today to see how well it could stand up to those hard fighting, heavy Carp. No problemo!
I brought this for my husbands Christmas present, but he had went back to the post several times saying he really liked it and wanted to buy it. However he thought it was too close to Christmas 💕he’s going to love it.
Looks great. Feels good. Going to put it to the fall salmon run test tomorrow.
